AEGEUS might look like a typical POS Coin forked from PIVX, but there is a lot more to it. This Project started out in early 2018 with the goal of bringing data storage and filesharing to the blockchain.
But how would data storage on a blockchain work? The protocoll AEGEUS uses to archive that is called IPFS (InterPlanetary File System). IPFS is a p2p network system, similar to bittorrent. With that integrated into a blockchain (sounds a lot easier than it is) it will be possible to store and share files on the chain.
With my files on the chain, won’t everyone be able to see them? Yes and no. People will see that there is a file, but it is encrypted and only viewable by the people that are supposed to view it. You have to share your wallet address with the person you want to share your files with so they can view and download the files you upload. everyone else will just see unusable encrypted gibberish.
This system will not be free however, people that want to upload files will have to pay a small fee of AEG coins. This fee will go to the storage node owners. This also gives an incentive for people to own a storage node.
Currently the AEGEUS system in public beta with limited capabilities. The team is most certainly motivated to get this project done. This Data storage and sharing system will be able to be guarantee a solid 100% uptime due to it being decentralized with many nodes all around the globe.
